Job summary

  • SCMP designation or progress toward certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and expedite delivery of materials, equipment, and services to meet project schedules and requirements.
  • Review procurement reports, production schedules, inventory records, and purchase orders to identify priorities and potential delays.
  • Liaise with suppliers, procurement teams, warehouse staff, and internal stakeholders to track orders and resolve delivery issues.
  • Identify risks to material availability and propose corrective actions to minimize schedule impact.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for efficient material movement to project areas.
  • Verify material receipts against PO requirements and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Investigate discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods, and non-conforming materials and work with suppliers for timely resolution.
  • Maintain expediting records, status updates, and progress reports for project teams.
  • Communicate material status and critical delivery information to stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Support continuous improvement in procurement, logistics, inventory control, and supply chain performance.

Purpose

We are currently recruiting for an Expeditor II to join our Supply Chain team in Calgary, Alberta. Our team is made up of experienced professionals who play a critical role in ensuring materials, equipment, and services are delivered in support of successful project execution.

As an Expeditor II, you will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the timely delivery of materials and equipment, maintaining visibility of procurement status, and proactively resolving supply chain issues that could impact project schedules. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with suppliers, procurement teams, warehouses, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and expedite the delivery of materials, equipment, and services to ensure project schedules and operational requirements are met.
  • Review procurement reports, production schedules, inventory records, and purchase orders to identify priorities, potential delays, and material requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers, procurement teams, warehouse personnel, and internal stakeholders to track order status and resolve delivery issues.
  • Proactively identify risks to material availability and recommend corrective actions to minimize schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to facilitate the efficient movement of materials from receiving and storage locations to project or production areas.
  • Verify material receipts against purchase order requirements, ensuring accuracy of quantities, documentation, part numbers, and specifications.
  • Investigate and report discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods, and non-conforming materials, working with suppliers to achieve timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate expediting records, status updates, and progress reports for project teams and management.
  • Communicate material status and critical delivery information to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across project teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement, logistics, inventory control, and supply chain performance.
What You Will Bring
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in expediting, procurement, supply chain, logistics, materials management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience tracking and coordinating the delivery of materials and equipment within a project, manufacturing, industrial, or EPC environment.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, procurement workflows, and material control practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze information, and proactively resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and schedule performance.
  • Experience working with ERP, procurement, inventory, or materials management systems.
  • Knowledge of project execution within the energy, industrial, chemicals, mining, or infrastructure sectors is considered an asset.
Required Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in expediting, procurement, logistics, materials coordination, or supply chain operations.
  • Professional supply chain designation (SCMP) or progress toward certification is considered an asset.
