Job summary

CIMCO Refrigeration is seeking a Purchasing Agent for a 6 month contract with a path to full-time conversion. The role is based in Burlington, Ontario, with hours from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Responsibilities include timely pricing and delivery responses, vendor sourcing across North America, and providing technical support at the National Parts Centre. SAP familiarity is an asset.

Qualifications

• Previous buying experience in an industrial environment.
• Mechanical aptitude or industrial/technical knowledge is a strong asset.
• Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative.
• Self-motivated and autonomous with ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with ERP/administrative tools is beneficial.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Provide prompt, accurate pricing and delivery lead times to CIMCO staff across North America.
• Check material availability using SAP inventory system or preferred vendors.
• Use standard resources to locate parts and sources; contact vendors; build relationships.
• Issue purchase orders to vendors; expedite deliveries and track shipments.
• Resolve inquiries and provide alternatives for technical part issues.

Position Summary
CIMCO Refrigeration is looking for a Purchasing Agent on a 6 month contract with an opportunity for full time conversion. This role will be based in Burlington, ON and hours of work will be from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM.

This position is a combination of Buyer, Expediter and provides some Technical Support in our National Parts Centre, a fast-paced internal order desk.Responsibilities include ensuring a timely and accurate response to pricing and delivery requests to CIMCO staff across North America. This role also includes sourcing and purchasing products and dealing directly with vendors throughout North America. As well as providing some technical support to the National Parts Centre.

Role Responsibilities

• Providing prompt and accurate pricing and delivery lead time quotations to CIMCO refrigeration mechanics, engineers, and sales reps. Inquiries may be by phone, email, fax or internal ERP system (SAP)
• Checking material availability with SAP inventory system or from preferred vendors.
• Using standard industry resources to locate sources of information and parts
• Locating potential vendors, communicate with vendors, establishing relationships, and obtaining required information
• Issue Purchase orders to vendors. Expedite deliveries and track shipments as required.
• Resolving all inquiries, issues and technical part problems. Provide alternate solutions where applicable

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Previous buying experience in an industrial environment
• Mechanical aptitude or industrial/technical knowledge is considered a very strong asset
• Accuracy and attention to detail is imperative
• Self-motivated & autonomous
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with SAP is an asset, but will consider experience with other ERP applications as well
• Post-secondary education preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word & Outlook)
