Job summary

Manitoba Government is seeking a Government Publications Library Technician to join the Legislative Library, Information Resources team. The role focuses on cataloguing legislative and government publications, plus adding metadata to the Digital Collection and supporting reference needs.

You will apply MARC/RDA standards and work with an integrated library system, advancing public access to Manitoba’s official publications.

Qualifications

• Essential Diploma in Library and Information Technology.
• Experience with MARC records and RDA cataloging.
• Familiarity with government publications and standard library practices.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, acquire, organize and catalogue legislative and government publications.
• Create bibliographical records according to library standards for the catalogue.
• Add publications and their metadata to the Library's Digital Collection.
• Assist with reference and research services.
