Job summary

Northwest Employment Works in Red Lake, Ontario, is seeking a unionized Labourer for municipal infrastructure maintenance. You will operate tools and machinery, keep a clean safe workplace, and follow instructions from the Operations Supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid Ontario G driver’s license, and at least 2 years handling power tools. You will work outdoors in varying weather, perform hydrant repairs and tree trimming, and assist with water meter work as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform strenuous tasks and lift heavy objects.
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform all manual duties required.
• Operate power tools, lawn mowers, hand tools, power saws, and small equipment.
• Provide support during periods of increased workload to ensure continuity of operations.
• Flagging and traffic control operations.
• Hydrant clearing and sign repairs.
• Tree trimming.
• Enforce safe and responsible work practices in line with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
