West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. in Ontario is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Heavy Duty Equipment Apprentices to support underground and surface operations on a 7/7 schedule.

The apprentice will assist in inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of mobile mining equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, graders and other mining equipment while gaining hands-on experience and completing required apprenticeship training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Enrollment in or eligibility for an Ontario apprenticeship program is required.
• Strong interest in the mining industry and mechanical/electrical trades.

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Assist in preventative maintenance programs.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and powertrain systems.
• Learn and apply safety procedures and protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as apprentices in key trades supporting our underground and surface operations. Reporting to the Trades Specific Maintenance Supervisor or designate, the successful candidate will work a 7/7 schedule.

Position Overview

The Heavy Duty Equipment Apprentice supports the maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of mobile mining equipment under the guidance of qualified Journeyperson technicians. Working in a safe and team-oriented environment, the apprentice gains hands‑on experience servicing haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and auxiliary mining equipment while developing the technical skills required to complete apprenticeship training requirements.
