Job summary

Groundhog Landscaping Ltd. in Ontario is seeking a hands-on Construction/Irrigation Maintenance worker for a full-time role at $36.00 per hour.

You will load and unload materials, move them to work areas, and assist with irrigation system installation and testing across GTA locations. Responsibilities include operating trench tools, inspecting components, maintaining and repairing irrigation systems, and performing snow removal and de-icing tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in maintenance/irrigation construction and snow removal.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment.
• Operate trench tools to dig and prepare trench for installation of irrigation systems.
• Assist in inspecting the various components of the irrigation system to ensure that they are operating properly.
• Operate, maintain and assist with repairs of irrigation system.
• Operate trenchers, vibratory plows, and, in some cases, heavy equipment like skidsteers or mini-excavators.
• Operate snow removal equipment such as snow blowers, plow trucks, skidsteers or loaders.
• Handle shoveling, salting, and de-icing operations.
• Health & Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Perform other activities at construction sites as directed/assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• 2 years of experience in maintenance/irrigation construction & snow removal work
• Experience with snow and ice management,
• Expert use of shovels, picks, pipe cutters, wrenches, and wire strippers.
• Ability to use multimeters, pressure gauges, and flow meters for system testing.
• Ability to operate snow removal equipment such as snow blowers, plow trucks, skid steers, or loaders
• Understanding of safe winter driving and working conditions during snow and ice events
• Ability to work in varying, often extreme, weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
• Ability to respond to weather-dependent scheduling, including overnight and early morning shifts
