Job summary

The City of Greater Sudbury invites applications for the role of Manager of Facility Design and Construction at Tom Davies Square in Greater Sudbury, ON. This permanent position lives within the Community Infrastructure department and reports to the General Manager of Community Infrastructure.

You will guide a multidisciplinary team through planning, design and delivery of major municipal facility projects, ensuring timely, cost‑effective outcomes and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO licensure.
• 7+ years in a large, complex organization with leadership.
• Knowledge of municipal infrastructure planning and regulatory requirements.
• Strong budgeting, reporting and strategic planning skills.
• Excellent English communication; French asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and construction of facility infrastructure projects.
• Provide strategic direction to staff and foster a high‑performing team.
• Oversee capital and operating budgets and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors and external partners.
• Prepare reports and briefings for leadership and stakeholders.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement in practices.
• Build relationships with internal teams, officials and the public.
