Job summary

City of Guelph is seeking a Manager, Construction Services in the Engineering and Transportation Services Department. This role leads a multidisciplinary team delivering roads, structures, water, wastewater, and stormwater projects in a challenging urban environment.

The position reports to the General Manager/City Engineer and requires PE or CET/OACETT registration, a Civil Engineering degree, and strong leadership and communication skills to ensure safe, efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field with considerable municipal engineering experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer with PEO or CET with OACETT is required.
• Experience supervising staff and leading multidisciplinary teams; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the city's linear infrastructure construction program including roads, water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and staff to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations and city bylaws.
• Provide technical guidance to planning, growth, and asset management teams and engage with consultants and contractors.
• Prepare reports and presentations for Council and affected stakeholders.
