Job summary

The Manitoba Housing department, part of the Government of Manitoba, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform maintenance tasks across an assigned portfolio in Manitoba, including The Pas or Flin Flon. You will prepare scopes of work, manage supplies, and address tenant concerns under supervision.

Responsibilities include inspections, documentation, and coordination with the Supervisor, with focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service in a public housing context.

Qualifications

• Experience performing renovations and maintenance repairs including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and heating system repair.
• Experience working within safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to complete inspection reports and document follow-up information on work orders.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and prioritization under time constraints.
• Superior customer service skills with tenants and the public.
• Strong problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.
• Effective verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks within an assigned portfolio following Manitoba Housing policies and guidelines.
• Perform inspections and prepare scopes of work for repairs; maintain inventories of materials and equipment.
• Submit required documentation related to duties and tenant concerns to the Supervisor; perform other operational tasks as assigned.
