Job summary

Manitoba Government, Housing, Addictions and Homelessness, Brandon region, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform maintenance tasks within an assigned portfolio, ensuring policy compliance and timely repairs. Inspections, work-scope preparation, and inventory management are key duties.

Essential qualifications include experience in renovations and maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical repair). Must be eligible to work in Canada and be prepared for on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Experience performing minor or major renovations and maintenance repairs including carpentry, plumbing, painting and mechanical/equipment repair.
• Ability to inspect and document work orders and repair activities.
• Familiarity with safety policies and procedures in maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance tasks within an assigned portfolio following Manitoba Housing policies.
• Perform inspections and prepare scope of work for repairs.
• Maintain inventories of materials, supplies and equipment.
• Submit required documentation to Supervisor and support other operational duties as needed.
