Housing Maintenance Technician

Job summary

The Maintenance Assistant position with Manitoba Housing, Property Services is based in The Pas or Flin Flon. You will perform maintenance tasks across an assigned portfolio, following all policies and procedures, and assist with inspections and work order documentation.

The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize issues, and excellent customer service when interacting with tenants and the public. This is a regular full-time posting in Manitoba’s housing program.

Qualifications

• Experience performing minor or major renovations and maintenance repairs including carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical equipment repair and heating system repair.
• Experience working within safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to complete inspection reports and document follow-up information on work orders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize issues and work under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Completion of maintenance tasks within an assigned portfolio while following policies and guidelines.
• Perform inspections, prepare scopes of work, and maintain inventories of materials, supplies and equipment.
• Submit required documentation related to maintenance and tenant concerns to the Supervisor.
