Scheduling Requirements
  • Available for 12‑hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, with flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts preferred.
  • Commit to a consistent, ongoing weekly schedule for the foreseeable future.
  • Willing to see multiple clients throughout the day.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
  • Provide companionship and light housekeeping to help clients stay at home.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with client or family requests, open to preparing different kinds of cuisine.
  • Assist clients with all activities of daily living (ADLs) within scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker.
  • Assist clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises.
  • Meet safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly.
  • Function within limits of own experience and knowledge, practicing safely and competently.
  • Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a car for daily work.
  • Ability to travel between assignments within designated areas; travel to rural/remote areas is an asset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • PSW certification from an approved and recognised educational institution or international nursing/doctorate certification.
  • Negative TB test completed within the last year.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certificate.
  • Valid WHMIS2015 certificate of completion.
  • COVID vaccination receipts, subject to exemption pursuant to Ontario’s Human Rights Code.
  • Immunisation for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and diphtheria required; Hepatitis B immunisation strongly urged.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check completed within the last year.
  • Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
  • Good judgement, ability to work independently, and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) registration is an asset.
