Job summary

Centre de services scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys (CSSMB) in Montreal seeks a psychoeducator to support students’ adaptive skills, autonomy, wellbeing and participation in school life. You will intervene in prevention, screening, assessment and tailored psychoeducational planning, serving as a consultant to staff and parents to ensure coherent interventions.

  • Be a member of the Order of Psychoeducators of Quebec (OPPQ).
  • Strong analytical, observational, and synthesis skills.

  • Demonstrate human, relational, and psychological qualities.
  • Proof of success in the French test SEL or CÉFRANC or TECFÉE or CSSMB enhanced French exam within three months of hiring.

Job description

Start date: 2026-08-20
Being a psychoeducator means supporting the development of students' adaptive skills to promote their autonomy, well-being, and participation in school life.
On a daily basis, you intervene in prevention, screening, assessment, and support for students facing adaptation difficulties. You develop and implement psychoeducational intervention plans tailored to their needs and act as a consultant to other school staff and parents to promote coherent and appropriate interventions in their environment.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the psychoeducation service while respecting educational and administrative frameworks, both at the level of the institutions and the School Service Centre;
  • Contribute to the screening and recognition of students experiencing difficulties, with a focus on prevention and intervention;
  • Plan and conduct assessments of students' adaptation difficulties and adaptive capacities, particularly for students with disabilities or adaptation difficulties, and for students diagnosed with a mental or neuropsychological disorder by a qualified professional resource, in order to clarify the student's functioning profile and psychosocial needs.
