Job summary

Centre de services scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys is seeking a psychologist to support student mental health, assess needs, and develop intervention plans in a school setting. You will work with teachers, parents, and the multidisciplinary team to promote well-being and academic success.

Qualifications

  • Be a member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ).
  • Strong analytical, observational, and synthesis skills.
  • Listening, communication, and dialogue skills.
  • Promote collaboration with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Exhibit human, relational, and psychological qualities.
  • Proof of success in the French SEL test or CÉFRANC or TECFÉE or the enhanced French exam of the CSSMB within three months of hiring at the latest.

  • Assist teachers in clarifying the nature of the issue, advising and supporting them in their educational approach;
  • Intervene with students, groups of students, or parents.

Being a psychologist in a school environment means supporting the psychological and mental health of students to promote their well-being, good adaptation, and academic success.
On a daily basis, you intervene in prevention, screening, assessment, and support for students presenting or likely to present adaptation or learning difficulties. You assess their psychological and mental functioning, develop intervention plans, and work in collaboration with the school team and parents to support their academic journey and personal and social development.
