Job summary

Home Care Assistance of Barrie, Ontario is hiring PSWs for a long-term care facility in Collingwood. Shifts vary from mornings to evenings, with overnights and some weekend work. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.

Benefits include competitive pay starting at 21 CAD/hour, a benefits plan after 30+ hours/week, vacation pay, flexible hours, a $100 sign-up bonus after 300 hours, and 4–6 hour shift minimum. Drivers with vehicle preferred.

Qualifications

• PSW certification required (NACC or Public College).
• Valid First Aid/CPR within last 12 months.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months.
• Driver's license and own insured vehicle mandatory.
• TB test within last 6 months.
• 3 Covid vaccines.
• Up to date flu shot.
• Mask fit.
• Satisfactory references.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support.
• Provide behavior support and crisis intervention.
• Maintain open communication with client and their family.
• Monitor care plan and document changes.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Follow Care Plan and complete ADL notes.
