Job summary

A home care service provider in Tottenham, Ontario is looking for casual Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to assist with daily living activities. Candidates should possess PSW certification and have over 2 years of experience in similar roles. Responsibilities include personal care, medication management, and supporting clients in their daily activities. The position offers flexible hours and a compensation of $21.00 per hour with additional benefits for those working over 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• PSW certification from a public college or additional NACC certification is preferred.
• PSW experience of over 2 years is required.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license is necessary.
• Must have valid CPR/First Aid certification.
• Completion of Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months.
• Broad Sector Check within last 4 months.
• CPI BLUE CARD is mandatory.
• Must provide 2 satisfactory professional references.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living and personal care.
• Support clients with assigned physiotherapy exercises.
• Provide medication support and management.
• Maintain open communication with clients and nurses.
• Monitor care plan and document changes.
• Respond to emergency situations.

We have 3 casual PSWs vacancy available for a group home in Tottenham. The ideal candidate drives holds a current CPI blue card AND a Broad Sector Check (different from VSC) Scheduling is flexible, but open availability is an asset.

Job Benefits:

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client's care plan
• Supporting client with assigned physiotherapy exercises daily if required
• Providing medication support and management
• Providing cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and spiritual support
• Maintaining open communication with client and nurses
• Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• PSW certification from a public college/learning center OR additional NACC certification is preferred*
• PSW experience of over 2 years is*required**
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
• Broad Sector Check within last 4 months
• CPI BLUE CARD
• 2 Satisfactory professional references
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
