Job summary

Home Care Assistance is hiring PSWs in the Midland area to provide compassionate personal care to clients in the community. Shifts vary from mornings to evenings to overnights, with potential live-in opportunities in the future.

Competitive pay starting at $25 per hour based on experience, plus benefits after 30+ hours per week. The role supports clients' physical and emotional needs and requires a valid PSW/DSW/SSW certification and a driver’s license with a vehicle.

Qualifications

• DSW/PSW/SSW certification is required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months.
• Driver's license and own insured vehicle is mandatory.
• Satisfactory professional references.
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support.
• Provide behavior support and crisis intervention.
• Maintain open communication with client and family.
• Monitor care plan and document changes.

We have 3 PSW vacancy for Community Client in Midland area to provide care. Shifts may vary from mornings to evenings to overnights and every other weekend. Possible live in opportunity in future.

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide personal care
• Drivers license and reliable car are mandatory for this position.
• Providingcognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Provide behaviorsupport and crisis intervention
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitoring care plan and adding documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• DSW/PSW/SSW certification is required
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
• CPI training is an asset**
• Drivers License and own insured vehicle is mandatory
• Satisfactory professional references

• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
