Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a PSW Coordinator to work with Generations Toronto, coordinating resident personal care services and supporting PSWs to deliver high-quality care aligned with AgeCare’s mission. The role partners with the Director of Care to oversee operations and staff development.

The position emphasizes onboarding, audits, and compliance; strong communication, literacy in common health software, and geriatric care knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• PSW certificate/diploma as per Fixing Long Term Care Homes Act.
• Experience as a PSW in Long Term Care.
• Knowledge of simple treatments and bedside care.
• BSO certification and Imagine training is an asset.
• Strong computer literacy; familiarity with Word, Excel, PCC, PPOC, Workday, UKG, Outlook.
• Basics of sanitation and geriatric care needs.
• Mature with effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Care to manage day-to-day PSW operations.
• Participate in hiring, orientation, evaluation, coaching and mentoring of PSWs.
• Onboard PSWs with documentation, care plans, and shift reports.
• Monitor care quality through supervision and audits across shifts.
• Audit and distribute nursing supplies and continence products as scheduled.
• Promote improved practices through mentorship and education.
