Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a PSW Coordinator to lead resident personal care services under approved policies. You will organize, direct and coordinate PSWs across shifts, ensuring compassionate, person-centred care aligned with AgeCare’s mission.

You will mentor staff, participate in hiring and evaluation, oversee training programs, and coordinate student placements with local schools. This role reports to the Director of Care and requires LTC PSW experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of PSW Certificate/Diploma per Fixing Long Term Care Homes Act.
• Must have worked as a PSW in Long Term Care.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques for simple resident care.
• BSO certification and Imagine training is considered an asset.
• Strong computer literacy; familiarity with common software tools.
• Mature with effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assumes full responsibility for day-to-day PSW operations.
• Participates in hiring, orientation, evaluation and corrective action of PSWs.
• Monitors care and services through supervision and audits.
• Promotes improved practices via mentorship, coaching and education.
• Leads Lift & Transfer program ensuring training and competencies.
• Leads monthly PSW & Imagine meetings and coordinates student placements.
