Job summary

Svante is a clean energy tech leader in Burnaby, delivering carbon capture solutions. As a Prototype Technician, you will work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop, assemble and validate processes, equipment and tooling for new products.

You will support trials, testing and troubleshooting, maintain documentation and assist with training. A diploma in Automation or Engineering Tech and hands-on electronics and motion control experience are required, with ISO environment experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Industrial Automation, Mechanical or Electronic Engineering Technology.
• Practical electronics experience, test equipment use and reading schematics.
• Familiarity with motion control systems, servo drives, and PLC/electronic control troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, time management and documentation skills; MS Office proficiency.
• Collaborative, safety-focused with a continuous improvement mindset; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
• Support manufacturing trials and quality tests.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes to improve uptime and reliability.
• Assist with technical documentation, equipment maintenance, and training.
• Contribute to Lean, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
