Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) seeks a Manager for Protection Services based at Victoria General Hospital. You will lead security operations, investigations, systems and training to prioritize patient and staff safety in a complex health care setting.

The role requires a Master’s degree and at least seven years of related health care management experience, plus a valid AST endorsement or ability to obtain one within six months.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field (MBA/Health Admin) and seven years of senior Health Care Support Services experience.
• Must have valid Security License with Advanced Security Training (AST) or obtain within six months.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage complex, multi-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct security operations, investigations, systems and training for Island Health.
• Ensure policies comply with professional, legal, and Island Health standards.
• Participate in development, implementation and evaluation of services as part of the Protection Services team.
