Job summary

Power Precision Inc. is seeking a Protection & Control Specialist to join our team in the Maritimes.

You will design, configure, test and commission protection and control systems for substations and electrical infrastructure, collaborating with engineering, field and commissioning teams to ensure safe, reliable performance. The role involves travel to customer sites across the Maritimes, with a focus on maintenance and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication with engineering, field and commissioning teams.
• Willingness to travel to Atlantic Region sites.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain or commission power distribution equipment including transformers, breakers, HV switches and instrument transformers.
• Perform short circuit and coordination studies; collect site data.
• Create/modify single line and three-line drawings using AutoCAD.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and control wiring diagrams.
• Travel for commissioning or maintenance projects as required.
• Provide emergency services to customers on short notice when needed.
