Job summary

CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are expanding and seeking an Intermediate Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team working on substation, hydroelectric, and renewable energy projects across Canada. You will design and review protection and control diagrams, coordinate with engineers and project managers, and support commissioning and field engineering.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Electrical engineering.
• Registered or eligible to register as P.Eng or with EBGC in Canada.
• 8+ years of experience on protection & control projects.
• 5+ years in detailed P&C design with utilities in Canada.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• Basic knowledge of Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Autonomous, resourceful and good teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and review protection and control drawings for substation and power systems.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines and project managers.
• Prepare plans, drawings and calculations from specifications.
• Develop electrical command and protection diagrams and wiring drawings.
• Supervise AC/DC station service power systems design and calculations.
• Participate in site surveys and field engineering support.
• Coordinate with equipment, civil, mechanical and building teams.
• Carry out occasional site work for start-up or monitoring.
• Perform QA/QC of design packages and respond to client comments.
