Job summary

Wesley in Hamilton is seeking a Property Services Coordinator to maintain and support social program spaces across Halton locations and our organization. You will handle hands-on maintenance, minor repairs, and coordinate projects under the Manager, Property Services.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily maintenance and property management activities in Halton and at other Wesley locations.
  • Oversee minor maintenance and repairs, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling and finishes.
  • Keep records and prepare reports using an online maintenance system; follow petty cash protocols.
  • Coordinate projects with internal staff and external service providers; prepare notices and supervise on-site work.
  • Oversee maintenance workers, enforce policies and safety standards, resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Deliver supports and training to staff involved with maintenance/property services.
  • Comply with Wesley policies, regulations, and risk mitigation; assist with health & safety requirements.
  • Act as rotating on-call emergency contact for properties during incidents.
  • Participate in planning and quality improvement for property services.

Are you the one we’re looking for?

The Property Services Coordinator delivers maintenance and property services to keep spaces functional for social programs operating at our Halton locations and across the organization as needed. In this role, your day-to-day will mainly consist of completing general hands-on maintenance, repairs and upkeep for assigned equipment and properties. You will also coordinate implementation of projects including oversight of maintenance workers communication with programs, creating tenant notices, and occasional subcontracting of larger jobs. The position reports to the Manager, Property Services and will support the wider portfolio as needed.

We are seeking candidates with versatile hands-on maintenance skills, strong professionalism and communication skills, and who demonstrate our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment.

This is a non-unionized, full-time permanent position, requiring 40 hours per week with anannual salary of $57,310.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Execute daily activities that ensure effective and efficient management of the properties in Halton and achieve operational plans.
  2. Implement major and oversee minor preventative maintenance and repair projects, including equipment, painting/finishes, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating/cooling and base building systems.
  3. Keep accurate records and provide timely reports as needed, including using an online maintenance tracking system and following petty cash protocols.
  4. Coordinate projects including liaising with colleagues internally, scheduling external service providers, preparing entry notices, and overseeing maintenance work being completed on-site.
  5. Oversee maintenance workers, including monitoring compliance with organizational policies, best practices and relevant regulations, and actively resolve day-to-day issues.
  6. Deliver supports and training to staff involved with maintenance/property services.
  7. Comply with all of Wesley’s policies, government regulations and industry standards, and work with Manager to identify and mitigate risks.
  8. Follow all health and safety procedures and assist the Manager with health & safety requirements including but not limited to conducting fire drills and maintaining safety equipment.
  9. Act as emergency on-call contact for all properties on a rotating basis, for fire, flood, power outages and other emergencies involving maintenance.
  10. Participate in planning, process development and quality improvement associated with property services.

What you will bring:

  1. High school diploma/GED required
  2. 5+ years of building maintenance
  3. Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and on-call independently. Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
  4. Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle
