Job description

Job Opportunity: Property Analyst

We are seeking a Property Analyst for a 12-month contract, with potential extensions, located in Calgary, Alberta. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Schedule: Hybrid, requiring at least 4 days in-office. Work hours are 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week. This is not a remote position.

Role Description

The successful candidate will handle Production Revenue Accounting, Regulatory Volumetric Reporting, and Compliance for heavy oil facilities. The role involves supporting the transition of assets into current properties and assisting with new company properties.

Responsibilities
  • Complete the full cycle of production accounting, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of production, revenue, and royalties.
  • Analyze production, revenue, royalties, and reconcile items with the general ledger.
  • Review configuration and flow changes of new properties.
  • Implement changes due to regulatory updates, measurement, allocations, and audits.
  • Review operating agreements and marketing contracts for accurate allocations and adjustments.
  • Participate in desk reviews and property audits, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide backup support as needed.
  • Assist operational teams with accounting and reporting tasks.
  • Support annual EPAP testing for facilities.
  • Ensure master file setups comply with regulations (EVAP, EPAP, SOX).
  • Manage operated and non-operated oil & gas properties, including Heavy Oil and Fuel Gas Systems.
  • Maintain property files, analyze field reports, and manage production accounting data.
  • Input and process volumetric data monthly, verify third-party data, and provide volume reports to stakeholders.
  • Analyze and calculate royalties, prepare pipeline splits, and generate regulatory reports.
  • Reconcile receivables and manage prior period adjustments.
  • Upload revenue and royalties into financial systems and respond to queries.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in full cycle Production and Revenue Accounting for conventional heavy oil assets, including gas facilities with gathering systems.
  • CAPPA certification is preferred.
  • Extensive experience with Alberta and Saskatchewan heavy oil properties, fuel gas, and proration facilities.
  • Proficiency with Production Accounting Systems (Metrix), Petrinex, PVR, SAP, CS Land, and Spotfire.
  • Strong knowledge of allocations, measurement, audits, and related processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with Finance, Operations, Emissions, and Engineering teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Organized with proven multitasking and prioritization skills.
