Job summary

Victor Energy Ltd, a project-focused contractor, seeks a Project Scheduler to lead schedule development for bids and portfolios, using Microsoft Project and Primavera P6. You will generate schedules, provide reporting analytics, and support handoff transitions across project teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include weekly updates, process development, and staff training in scheduling tools.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or diploma in Engineering, Business Management or related field is required.
• Experience developing project schedules for construction projects ($150M+) is an asset.
• Experience in utility or linear construction projects is an asset.
• MS Project training and minimum three years scheduling experience in construction.
• MS Project integrated with Planner, Teams, and SharePoint is an asset.
• P6 training and minimum two years of P6 scheduling experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Projects with MS Project process development and implementation.
• Assist with P6 process development and implementation.
• Produce project schedules and reporting analytics in Microsoft Project.
• Produce project schedules and reporting analytics in Primavera P6.
• Develop schedules at bid stage and support handoff transition.
• Communicate weekly schedule updates to project teams; train staff as required.

Role

Victor Energy Ltd is a powerline contractor with over 20 years experience building Alberta's electrical infrastructure, recently acquired by Java Holdings Ltd. Victor Energy is seeking a Project Scheduler to be responsible for the implementation, development and administration of project schedules, for both project specific and portfolio project reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Projects in the development and implementation of Microsoft Project process
• Assist the Director of Projects in the development and implementation of P6 process
• Produce project schedules and reporting analytics in Microsoft Project
• Produce project schedules and reporting analytics in Primavera P6
• Develop project schedules at the bid stage and support the transition as required for project handoff
• Communicate with Project teams with weekly updates to their respective schedules
• Train staff on Microsoft Project and P6 scheduling as required

Requirements

• Post-secondary education or diploma in Engineering, Business Management or related field is required
• Experience in large project schedules ($150M+) would be considered an asset.
• Experience in utility or linear construction projects would be considered an asset
• Microsoft Project Training and a minimum of three years of experience developing project schedules for a construction industry
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Project with links to other Microsoft Suite programs such as Planner, Teams, and SharePoint would be an asset
• P6 Training and a minimum of two years experience developing P6 schedules
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other data base applications
• Attention to details is essential, including strong analytical and problem-solving skills
