Spirit Omega Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a detail-oriented Project Scheduler to support our client by creating, updating, and coordinating project schedules using Primavera. You will work with Project Managers from inception through closeout, ensuring timely progress and transparent reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical certificate or diploma.
  • 4 years of schedule management experience, preferably in construction using Primavera P6.
  • Creating and managing project schedules with project codes, activity codes, budgets and resources.
  • Knowledge of critical path scheduling and milestone portfolio management techniques.
  • PMP designation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule creation, monitoring, updating, and distribution.
  • Consult with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective scheduling management system.
  • Coordinate project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor project timelines and deadlines; identify potential delays and intervene promptly.
  • Evaluate performance and prepare project progress reports.
  • Accommodate updates and changes to project schedules.

Job Location: Edmonton, AB

Contract Length: 1 year

Work Hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm daily (excluding weekends and statutory holidays) Overtime is not applicable.

Spirit Omega Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Project Scheduler to support one of our valued clients in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Project Scheduler is responsible for creating, updating and coordinating project schedules utilizing Primavera and supporting a team of Project Managers in the delivery of a project from inception through to close out, including: schedule creation, monitoring, updating, and distribution.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule creation, monitoring, updating, and distribution.
  • Consulting with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks;
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective scheduling management system;
  • Coordinating project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders;
  • Monitoring project timelines and deadlines; Identifying potential project schedule delays and facilitating intervention in a timely manner;
  • Evaluating performance and preparing project progress reports;
  • Accommodating updates and changes to project schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; or a relevant technical certificate or diploma;
  • 4 years of schedule management experience, preferably in a construction environment using Primavera P6;
  • Creating project schedules, working with project codes, activity codes, user defined columns, budget and actual resources, and resource management;
  • Develop and share layouts and data as required by different stakeholders;
  • Experience in auditing schedule information for accuracy;
  • Sound knowledge of critical path scheduling and key milestone portfolio management techniques;
  • Experience in providing information, data and scenarios to assist project teams in expediting project schedules
  • Experience with utility construction in energized substations is an asset;
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio;
  • Thorough understanding and experience of foundation Project Management processes and procedures aligned with the Project Management Body of Knowledge;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is highly desirable.
Required Certification
  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certification, or equivalent.
