Job summary

Socket.dev in Markham, Ontario, seeks a Project Manufacturing Engineer (Continuous Improvements) to lead manufacturing improvements at Exco Extrusion Dies and drive productivity in a metal machining environment.

You will develop SOPs, work instructions, and CAM-related documentation while collaborating with Manufacturing, CAM, and Engineering to optimize processes and quality. Requires 3+ years in metal machining and a Mechanical/Industrial Engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the metal machining industry.
• Strong focus on continuous improvement projects.
• Experience in machine shop process and method improvement.
• Ability to develop and maintain machine shop documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support manufacturing improvement projects from planning to implementation.
• Develop and maintain machine shop SOPs, work instructions, and process documents.
• Prepare CAM-related documentation with CAM team support.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in the machine shop.
• Support machine shop automation initiatives to boost productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, CAM, Engineering and other teams to resolve issues.

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Exco Extrusion Dies, Markham, Ontario
Industry: Extrusion Die and Mold Machining

Experience

Minimum3 years of experience in the metal machining industry, with a primary focus on:

• Continuous improvement projects
• Machine shop process and method improvement

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage and supportmanufacturing improvement projects from planning through implementation
• Develop and maintainmachine shop documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation
• Prepare and maintainCAM-related documentation with support from the CAM team
• Identify and implementcontinuous improvement opportunities within the machine shop
• Supportmachine shop automation initiatives to improve productivity, quality, consistency, and efficiency
• Work collaboratively with Manufacturing, CAM, Engineering, and other departments to improve shop processes and resolve operational issues

Skills and Qualities

Strong fundamentals inmathematics, physics, and mechanical engineering are essential.

Education

Diploma or bachelor’s degree inMechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
