Job summary

Tech Talent International is seeking a Project Manager for stone fabrication projects. You will oversee projects from award through closeout, ensuring on-time delivery and budget compliance while maintaining quality standards.

The role requires strong coordination of staff, suppliers, and fabricators, effective communication with clients, and experience with AutoCAD and MS Office. Some travel to customer sites and supplier locations is expected.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management experience in stone/granite/quartz fabrication/installation is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills; budget awareness helpful.

About the job Project Manager - Stone Fabrication

The Project Manager in the completion of all assigned projects throughout the award, procurement, fabrication, delivery, installation, punch list and closeout to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget. Responsible for compliance to our clients quality, process and procedure policies.

The PM will handle the overall management of assigned projects throughout the award, procurement, design, fabrication, delivery, installation, punch list and closeout to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget. The PM will also be responsible for project compliance to contract, plans and specifications. As well , the PM will be verifying the overall project for compliance to clients quality, process and procedure policies. The PM is responsible for the effective management of project staff, suppliers, fabricators, labor and for resource planning throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with clients and designer to understand overall scope, client expectations of marble or granite solutions
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules. Monitor progress to assure on time or better material, fabrication and labor performance.
  • Assess resource requirements for assigned projects and coordinate these requirements with in-house staff, vendors, suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Attend meetings at customer locations, jobsites and supplier facilities.
  • Track proposal costs to actual costs. Ensure project is on or below budgeted costs. Regularly report to Owners on financial performance of individual projects. Prepare close-out reports at project completion.
  • Negotiate and manage purchases with suppliers, vendors, and sub-contractors. Prepare purchase orders.
  • Document, negotiate and resolve change orders, extra work orders, and claims. Maintain change order log.
  • Coordinate and supervise the preparation of shop drawings in AutoCAD, field measurements and cut tickets.
  • Check same for compliance to project plans and specifications.
  • Ensure clients quality standards are applied and adhered to.
  • Follow company policies, procedures and processes; adhere to company values and principles.
  • Maintain commitments to clients, co-workers and team members.
  • Special projects and other duties may be assigned.
  • The Project Manager must be an excellent verbal and written communicator; able to establish and maintain effective communications with the customer, in-house team and outside vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Must work well in a group environment by giving and welcoming feedback.
  • Must be able to effectively coordinate the efforts of team members and co-workers by supplying necessary and timely information and ensuring that it is used correctly and to attain project goals.
  • Must be able to anticipate and resolve problems, bottlenecks, conflicts.
  • Must be detail oriented able to track and organize information and communications to ensure that project issues are dealt with promptly and properly.
  • Project Managers must be organized and prompt in dealing with and reporting to customers, internal departments, fabricators and suppliers.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Project Management within Stone/Granite/Quartz fabrication/installation industry
  • Ability to design. read and interpret documents such as AutoCAD blueprints, written specifications, RFIs, Procedure manuals, etc.
  • Ability to write submittals, transmittals and general business correspondence.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in front of customers and co-workers.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Able to travel to customers job sites, suppliers and fabricators. Some out-of-state and overseas travel may be required.
  • Ability to apply mathematical skills such as square footage, cubic footage, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to perform basic metric conversions.
  • Must posses a valid G license and vehicle as travel to customers sites around the GTA is require
