Job summary

BUILD IT By Design is seeking a full-time, on-site Project Manager to oversee construction projects in the Greater Toronto Area. You will manage budgets, ensure safety standards, and drive project controls across multiple sites, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of supervisory project control experience, strong communication skills, and knowledge of local codes. This role offers growth within a collaborative culture and robust benefits.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in project control including scheduling, budgeting and invoicing.
  • Post secondary education in Project Management, Construction Management or related field preferred; PMP is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of construction financials and cost management.
  • In‑depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices.
  • Proven experience in construction management with ability to lead diverse teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and oversee construction projects to meet scope and schedule.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets with accurate cost reporting.
  • Lead subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams; conduct regular meetings.
  • Implement and enforce workplace safety protocols to maintain compliance.
  • Inspect sites to ensure high-quality workmanship and client expectations.
  • Maintain strong client relationships with timely updates and issue resolution.
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Secure permits and ensure alignment with local codes and regulations.
  • Use Procore to track project data, reports, RFIs, and approvals.
  • Mentor teams, contribute to KPI development, and drive organizational efficiency.

Role Description

We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site Project Manager at BUILD IT. The Project Manager will oversee the execution and management of construction projects, ensuring that budgets are managed, safety standards are met, and all project control activities are efficiently executed across our Greater Toronto Area operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Inspect sites to ensure work meets high-quality standards and client expectations.
  • Client Communication: Build and maintain strong client relationships with timely updates and issue resolution.

  • Permitting & Compliance: Secure required permits and ensure alignment with local codes and regulations.
  • Documentation Management: Use tools like Procore to track and log project data, including reports, RFIs, and approvals.
