We are seeking a results-oriented Project Manager to join our Global Engineering team, supporting capital and expense projects at BASF’s Regina, SK, Canada site, with potential support sites across Canada.
In this role, you will manage all phases of small to medium-sized capital projects (up to $25 million), serve as the primary technical point of contact, and ensure compliance with BASF’s engineering standards and Canadian regulations. You will also mentor junior and intermediate project managers and navigate complex organizational structures with multiple stakeholders across regions.

- Developing project scopes, generating cost estimates, and preparing appropriation funding requests to secure project funding.
- Leading project teams, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, and manufacturing representatives to execute projects from concept to startup and closure.
- Ensuring safety and environmental compliance through rigorous project safety reviews and adherence to BASF’s policies, procedures, technical standards, and Canadian regulatory requirements.
- Applying Value-Based Engineering (VBE) practices to optimize project scope, schedule, and costs while maintaining a strong safety and environmental mindset.
- Maintaining SAP project data, monitoring progress through scheduling tools, performing status reporting, and controlling spending through forecasting and adjustments.
- Providing technical support for process troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and problem-solving, including contributions to feasibility studies or high-visibility plant troubleshooting.
- Driving sustainable and innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and predictability of capital projects.
- Mentoring junior and intermediate project managers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring project execution excellence.
- Navigating complex organizational structures, managing multiple projects and stakeholders across regions to deliver successful outcomes.
If you have...
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Construction Manager degree.
- 5-10+ years’ experience (minimum)nof solid project management experience in an industrial background, with familiarity in complex industrial systems (chemical, petrochemical, or similar manufacturing environments preferred).
- A proven track record of successfully managing multiple small to medium-sized capital projects simultaneously.
- A strong safety and environmental mindset, ensuring compliance with Canadian safety and environmental regulations and BASF standards.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented, multi-tasking environment and navigate complex organizations with multiple stakeholders across regions.
- Proficiency in SAP for project data management and familiar with project management best practices (PMP certification is a plus).
- Experience in process development, equipment replacements, or efficiency improvements, with the ability to create and reference technical documents and diagrams.
- The ability to mentor junior and intermediate project managers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of excellence.
