As an integral member of the Research Facilities Planning and Implementation (RFP & I) department, the Project Manager applies knowledge and experience of research environments to orchestrate projects under the direction of the Manager and/or Director. The principal responsibilities include:

  1. Developing plans to facilitate the cost effective and timely execution of multiple/simultaneous large/small scale construction, redevelopment and program development projects for UHN Research.
  2. Performing grant administration, procurement/financial management and human resource management responsibilities of 1 – 2 employees.
  3. Performing quality management responsibilities.
  4. Performing administrative responsibilities leading to the efficient and effective operation of the department.
  5. Performing cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned and/or requested.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Science or related Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Scientific background and/or training is preferred.
  • Completion of a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred.
  • At least five (5) years experience working in a research lab environment.
  • At least five (5) years related experience in project coordination.
  • At least two (2) years experience in architectural drafting in detailed design, an asset.
  • Experience with MS Office and MS Project required.
  • Experience working in a hospital setting, an asset.
  • Experience with managing staff, preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce reports and meet scheduling deadlines.
