Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Project Manager focused on Markets Risk & Transformation for a 9+ month contract with strong extension potential. Hybrid work schedule requires 3 days onsite weekly.

Ideal candidate has 10-15 years in financial services, deep Capital Markets experience, and expertise delivering IMA components. You will manage risk, regulatory projects, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement across a global bank.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or University degree in a relevant field; Master's preferred
• 10-15 years of Financial Services industry experience
• Experience in Markets, Risk and Regulatory related projects/programs
• Significant experience in Capital Markets Transformation
• Experience with IMA components (ES, NMRF, RFET, PLAT, etc.)
• Strong Market Risk experience and familiar with VaR/HVaR model management
• Experience with FRTB and/or other front-office regulatory initiatives
• Experience with derivatives trading, risk and P&L flows
• Strong track record in strategic project management and delivering complex solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to advise senior stakeholders
• Ability to drive change across a global organization
• Thought leadership in target state design and stakeholder engagement
• Demonstrated analytical skills and problem solving capability

Responsibilities

• Transformation / change management / PM experience focusing on Capital Markets initiatives to address regulatory, audit, risk and control
• Working knowledge of Markets business, products, regulatory capital and Market Risk (VaR) or Credit risk
• Influence and build collaborative relationships across Global Markets front-to-back stakeholders
• Derive business requirements with stakeholders and translate into technical requirements
• Coordinate internal and external dependencies across initiatives with Risk Managers, Product Owners, Front Office and Technology teams
• Identify challenges and proactively seek to resolve or elevate risk and issues
• Produce accurate project update materials for various forums and committees
• Build strong relationships to support program execution

Required Skills & Experience

• A solid understanding of mechanisms to track and communicate performance
• Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organization and understand different perspectives
• Thought leadership in target state design through engaging stakeholders at various levels of the organization
• Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem solving capability

Desired Skills

• Project Management certifications e.g. PMP or equivalent
• Experience with JIRA and Agile tech framework

What You Will Be Doing

• Transformation / change management / PM experience with a focus on Capital Markets initiatives to address regulatory, audit, risk and control and / or risk management issues
• Working knowledge of Markets business, products, regulatory capital and Market Risk (VaR) or Credit risk
• Ability to influence and build collaborative relationships across Global Markets front-to-back stakeholders, e.g., trading desk, finance, operations, technology, risk management
• Manage mutliple stakeholders to derive business requirements and assist Technology in understanding to allow them to translate into technical requirements
• Manage internal and external dependencies across initiatives, including working closely with Risk Managers, Product Owners, Front Office, Product Control and Technology teams
• Identify challenges and proactively seek to resolve or elevate risk and issues in a timely and well-articulated manner to the projects by engaging relevant stakeholders and PMs
• Produce accurate and insightful project update materials and artifacts, tailoring to various forums and committees
• Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to support the execution of programs
