Job summary

Houle Electric Canada in Victoria is seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to lead all aspects of electrical projects from start-up to close out, including estimating, planning, procurement and billing. You will coordinate with clients, suppliers and internal teams, review contracts, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure projects stay on time and on budget while delivering safe, quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade certificate or degree/diploma in related field.
• 3 years' experience in Electrical Project Management and/or Estimating.
• Experience completing multiple projects from start-up to close out.

Responsibilities

• Estimate projects and submit tenders.
• Lead project planning, labour management, procurement and billing.
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users.
• Manage project financials including billing, schedules and labour.
• Mitigate project risk and handle estimate changes.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and field staff to keep projects on track.

About this role

We are recruiting for a Project Manager/Estimator to join our Project Delivery group in Victoria focused on projects across the island.

The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for leading all aspects of the job. This includes estimating, project planning, labour management, procurement, billing, communications, and wrap up of each project.

Your responsibilities

• Work with clients and identify potential business opportunities
• Estimate projects and submit tenders
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions
• Maintain good relationship with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users
• Manage project financials (including billing), purchasing, schedules and labour
• Mitigate project risk, deficiencies and estimate changes as needed
• Work with internal stakeholders, field staff and customers, to ensure projects remain on track, on budget and meet expectations
• Be present on jobsites when required and review project upon completion to discuss success and challenges
• Review the project at completion with the supervisor and superintendent to discuss successes and challenges

Your experience and skills

• Electrical trade certificate, Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Technologist diploma/certificate
• 3 years' experience in Electrical Project Management and/or Estimating
• Demonstrated experience completing multiple projects from start-up to close out
• Previous experience with estimating programs, specifically Accubid (Accubid Pro and Change Order) an asset
• Strong computer proficiency with MS Office, Procore, AutoCAD, Teams, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to understand customer's needs
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Strong communication, and team collaboration skills
