Job summary

Houle in Burnaby is recruiting an energetic Project Manager/Estimator for our Service division. You will lead client engagements, estimate projects, review contracts and manage project finances on commercial electrical service projects.

You will collaborate with suppliers, consultants and field staff to keep projects on track, on budget and aligned with client expectations. Experience with Accubid and Procore is valued.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade certificate or related degree is required.
• 2 years of electrical project management and/or estimating experience.
• Experience estimating projects and change orders.
• Experience in electrical service (commercial) is preferred.
• FSR B certification is an asset.
• Experience with estimating programs (Accubid) is an asset.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Good computer skills including MS Office, Procore, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential business opportunities with clients.
• Estimate projects and submit tenders.
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users.
• Manage project financials (including billing), purchasing, schedules and labour.
• Mitigate project risk, deficiencies and estimate changes as needed.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, field staff and customers to keep projects on track.
• Be present on jobsites when required and review project upon completion.
• Review the project at completion with foreman and superintendent.

About This Role

We are recruiting for an energetic, business savvy, and driven Project Manager/Estimator, Service Projects to join our Service division in our Burnaby office. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

Your Responsibilities

• Work with clients and identify potential business opportunities
• Estimate projects and submit tenders
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users
• Manage project financials (including billing), purchasing, schedules and labour
• Mitigate project risk, deficiencies and estimate changes as needed
• Work with internal stakeholders, field staff and customers, to ensure projects remain on track, on budget and meet expectations
• Be present on jobsites when required and review project upon completion to discuss success and challenges
• Review the project at completion with the foreman and superintendent to discuss successes and challenges

Your Experience And Skills

• Electrical trade certificate, Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Technologist diploma/certificate
• 2 years' experience in Electrical Project Management and/or Estimating
• Experience estimating projects and/or change orders
• Experience in electrical service (commercial projects) preferred
• FSR B, an asset
• Previous experience with estimating programs, specifically Accubid, an asset
• Proven ability to build strong relationships
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Strong communication and team working skills
• Good computer skills including MS Office, Procore, Teams, etc.

Salary range: $85,000-$100,000 per year

plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will be commensurate with experience, skills and overall match to the position offered. Let's chat throughout the hiring process and determine the best fit.
