Job summary

Houle Electric Canada in Burnaby is seeking a Project Manager/Estimator for Service Projects to lead client engagements, prepare estimates, and review contracts. The role requires growing relationships with suppliers, contractors, and end users while managing project financials and schedules.

You will partner with internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of service project work. The ideal candidate has electrical PM/estimating experience, knowledge of Accubid, and proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• Electrical project management and/or estimating experience
• Experience estimating projects and/or change orders
• Experience in electrical service (commercial projects) preferred
• FSR B, an asset
• Knowledge of estimating programs, specifically Accubid

Responsibilities

• Work with clients and identify potential business opportunities
• Estimate projects and submit tenders
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users
• Manage project financials (including billing), purchasing, schedules and labour
• Mitigate project risk, deficiencies and estimate changes as needed
• Work with internal stakeholders, field staff and customers, to ensure projects remain on track, on budget and meet expectations
• Be present on jobsites when required and review project upon completion to discuss success and challenges
• Review the project at completion with the foreman and superintendent to discuss successes and challenges

About this role

We are recruiting for an energetic, business savvy, and driven Project Manager/Estimator, Service Projects to join our Service division in our Burnaby office. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

Your responsibilities

• Work with clients and identify potential business opportunities
• Estimate projects and submit tenders
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users
• Manage project financials (including billing), purchasing, schedules and labour

Your experience and skills

• Electrical trade certificate, Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Technologist diploma/certificate
• 2 years' experience in Electrical Project Management and/or Estimating
• Experience estimating projects and/or change orders
• Experience in electrical service (commercial projects) preferred
• FSR B, an asset
• Previous experience with estimating programs, specifically Accubid, an asset
• Proven ability to build strong relationships
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Strong communication and team working skills
• Good computer skills including MS Office, Procore, Teams, etc.
