Job summary

Houle in Victoria, BC is seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to lead the Commercial, Institutional, and Residential (CIR) project delivery in the region. The role covers estimating, planning, labour management, procurement, billing, communications, and wrap-up of each project.

You will collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects stay on time and on budget, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade certificate or Electrical engineering degree or Technologist diploma required.
• At least 3 years of Electrical PM and/or Estimating experience.
• Proven track record delivering multiple projects from start-up to close out.
• Experience with Accubid Pro/Change Order is an asset.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Procore, AutoCAD, and Teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with clients and team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential business opportunities with clients.
• Estimate projects and submit tenders.
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, consultants, general contractors, and end users.
• Manage project financials including billing, purchasing, and labour.
• Mitigate project risk and handle estimate changes.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and on-site staff to keep projects on track.
• Review the project at completion with the supervisor to discuss outcomes.

About This Role

We are recruiting for a Project Manager/Estimator to join our Commercial, Institutional, and Residential (CIR) Project Delivery group in Victoria focused on projects across the island.

The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for leading all aspects of the job. This includes estimating, project planning, labour management, procurement, billing, communications, and wrap up of each project.

Your Responsibilities

• Work with clients and identify potential business opportunities
• Estimate projects and submit tenders
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions
• Maintain good relationship with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users
• Manage project financials (including billing), purchasing, schedules and labour
• Mitigate project risk, deficiencies and estimate changes as needed
• Work with internal stakeholders, field staff and customers, to ensure projects remain on track, on budget and meet expectations
• Be present on jobsites when required and review project upon completion to discuss success and challenges
• Review the project at completion with the supervisor and superintendent to discuss successes and challenges

Your Experience And Skills

• Electrical trade certificate, Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Technologist diploma/certificate
• 3 years’ experience in Electrical Project Management and/or Estimating
• Demonstrated experience completing multiple projects from start-up to close out
• Previous experience with estimating programs, specifically Accubid (Accubid Pro and Change Order) an asset
• Strong computer proficiency with MS Office, Procore, AutoCAD, Teams, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to understand customer’s needs
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Strong communication, and team collaboration skills

Salary range: $85,000 – $120,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will commensurate with experience, skills and overall match to the position offered. Let’s chat throughout the hiring process and determine the best fit.
