Job summary

Prairie HVAC/R, part of the IR Pros family, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee industrial refrigeration projects in Manitoba. You will ensure safe installation, maintenance, and repair, while maintaining safety compliance and delivering technical expertise to clients.

You will coordinate with team members, clients, and vendors from planning through completion, managing scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering, PM, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in managing industrial refrigeration projects.
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and safety regulations.
• Strong planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage all aspects of industrial refrigeration projects.

• Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans.
• Communicate project goals, objectives, and progress to team members, clients, and vendors.

• Maintain accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, schedules, and budgets.
• Provide technical expertise to clients and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve system efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients and management.
• Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Position Summary

Prairie HVAC/R and Electrical Services, part of the IR Pros family of companies, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of industrial refrigeration projects. The Project Manager will ensure the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration equipment, maintain compliance with safety regulations, and provide technical expertise to clients.

This role is responsible for coordinating and communicating with team members, clients, and vendors throughout the full project lifecycle — from planning through completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Knowledge of complex ammonia refrigeration systems and safety regulations
• Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Ammonia (NH₃) or CO₂ refrigeration systems
• Industrial refrigeration construction and installation projects
• PSM / RMP-regulated facilities
• System startup and commissioning
• Managing multiple concurrent projects and crews
