Job Description: Project Manager

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager directly oversees the delivery of assigned K-12 school capital projects. This role involves managing multi-disciplinary projects involving architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical disciplines, and more.

As the project team leader, the Project Manager collaborates with clients to identify project requirements; coordinates activities of all supporting parties, including in-house team members, private sector consultants, and contractors; and ensures that project scope, timeline, cost, and quality objectives are achieved. The Project Manager also ensures compliance with relevant government legislation, policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures. A key aspect of this role is working with stakeholders and industry partners to achieve project goals, requiring extensive knowledge of project management principles, including procurement, design, and construction disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Manage the planning, execution, control, and closure of assigned capital projects within approved scope, budget, and schedule.
2. Ensure that school capital projects adhere to the latest version of the School Capital Manual and approved project scope.
3. Oversee project expenditures and budgets throughout all stages of implementation to maximize value within approved budgets.
4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to control the design process and ensure progress aligns with efficient timelines. Ensure design compliance with Ministry principles.
5. Direct consultants to maintain quality control of deliverables, including system start-up/verification reports, design reports, and contract documents, ensuring completeness and compliance with standards, guidelines, and code requirements, including LEED.
6. Develop ministerial briefings and correspondence related to project issues.
7. Manage consultant and architect contracts and oversee the payment of invoices.
