Wood is recruiting for a Project Quality Manager to join its Projects West business focusing on Oil, Gas & new Energies. This opportunity is Hybrid based in Calgary, AB or in Edmonton, AB.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Quality Manager to support the application of quality principles, systems, and measure the quality management system across the project.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
  • Implementation, coordination and monitoring of the Quality Management System (QMS), as applied to the Project
  • Preparation, implementation and monitoring of the Project Quality Plan (PQP), including communication and awareness training
  • Ensure that Project Management Plan (PMP) is prepared and implemented in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Resolution of any internal or client non-conformance
  • Promote awareness among project personnel of the importance of quality, promoting understanding of the company policies with regard to quality and of the QMS and promoting recognition by staff of their responsibilities for the Quality of their own work
  • Advise on the staffing requirements for the quality management aspects of the Project, defining the terms of reference for such staff and assisting in their selection and recruitment
  • Execute project quality audits, generate related reports and actions, and steward action resolution to completion.
  • Prepare and present project quality reports to project leadership and clients
  • Establish and track project KPIs in area of responsibility

Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood now or in the future is required.

Expected
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. 10+ years of project quality management experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Skilled in audit execution, and non-conformance management
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards
Desirable
  • Prior experience in an engineering and procurement setting
  • Experience with codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM)
  • Lead auditor training or certification
  • International experience
