Job summary

ML6 Search + Talent Advisory is assisting a growing Canadian manufacturer in Sudbury to hire a Project Estimator. You will own estimates for complex, non-routine projects, analyzing drawings and customer scopes to define true requirements and protect margins.

Collaborate with Solutions, Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Finance to validate numbers, manage contingencies, and continually improve cost-modelling tools and databases. Compensation ranges from CAD 75,000 to 85,000 base.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of estimating or costing experience in industrial/mining/construction environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specs.
• Proficiency with Excel, ERP systems and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment and subcontracted services.
• Analyze drawings, specifications and customer scopes to define true project requirements.
• Identify technical and commercial risks and build contingencies into estimates.
• Support bids and RFPs with clear cost breakdowns and documentation.
• Collaborate with Solutions, Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Finance to validate estimates and pricing.
