Fortis is a privately owned company based out of Saskatoon, SK that provides mining, engineering, and manufacturing services to the mining and construction industries. The company has a global focus that offers contracting, subcontracting, and consulting services to a wide range of customers.

Fortis Mining Engineering & Manufacturing is recruiting for a Project Coordinator. We are hiring for a site-based coordinator operating on a Potash mine site in Saskatchewan. Fortis is a strong leader in Canadian mining, and we pride ourselves on the work we do, and the people and communities we work with. The Project Coordinator will assist the Project Manager, Superintendent and administrative support staff with project planning/coordination, client interaction, safety, scheduling, quality, and cost/scope management. This position will be primarily site-based with potential for short-term office-based requirements.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and a clear criminal record check will be required as a condition of employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate project personnel, materials, and equipment
• Assist with preparation and execution of work plans and schedules
• Track and report labour, materials, and equipment
• Prepare weekly productivity reports
• Assist with quality assurance and manage client expectations
• Provide technical office support as needed
• Participate in on-site safety meetings and lead safety initiatives
• Identify needs and deficiencies in plans/schedules and communicate them
• Translate work requirements into prioritized tasks
• Resolve or report scheduling conflicts
• Coordinate work with other project groups and interface with contractors and clients

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess:

• 3-5 years of related experience, preferably on mining/industrial sites
• Technical background in industrial or mining projects
• Engineering degree or technologist certification preferred
• PMP or project management certification considered an asset
• Ability to create schedules, manage subcontracts and contracts
• Effective communication skills
• Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project) an asset
• Problem-solving skills for project challenges
