Description

The Industry Engagement Team in the Office of VP Research invites applications for a Project Coordinator. This full-time fixed-term position is for approximately 24 months, with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Manager, Industry Engagement, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders, the Project Coordinator will help initiate industry-partnered research and innovation opportunities at the University of Calgary.

As part of the strategic goals outlined in the Ahead of Tomorrow Research and Innovation Plan, the Industry Engagement Unit aims to connect industry partners with researchers, leverage investments, and foster partnerships. The Project Coordinator will be vital in ensuring the unit meets these goals, requiring a self-starter with excellent organizational skills, judgment, and collaboration abilities.

This is a 2-year full-time AUPE position with potential extension. Work hours are generally 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with possible flexible hours to meet operational needs.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to inform faculty about industry research opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Improve business processes within the Industry Engagement office.
  • Respond to inquiries via website and email, track requests.
  • Create and publish a bulletin of industry engagement opportunities.
  • Design and test the usability of the Industry Engagement website.
  • Manage resources on SharePoint and maintain organizational systems.
  • Track progress towards engagement targets and prepare reports.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Post-secondary education, preferably a university degree, with 5-7 years of related experience; knowledge of university research resources.
  • Significant project management and administrative experience.
  • Experience in communications, marketing, or events preferred.
  • Research experience is beneficial.
  • Proven success in managing projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to connect with campus and external stakeholders, influence others.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with computers, web tools, databases, and project management software.
