Job summary

Pomerleau in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Project Coordinator in our Buildings division to support project growth and execution. You will manage multiple activities and deadlines to better understand client, team and project needs and drive for results.

The role requires 0–3 years in building construction, a university degree or technology diploma in engineering, strong organization and communication, and proficient computer skills; bilingualism is a strong asset.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years’ experience in the building construction industry.
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills and comfort with innovation.
  • Bilingualism is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project team with coordination and project support.
  • Collaborate and maintain open communication with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients.
  • Review, interpret and update construction schedules.
  • Maintain shop drawings, RFIs, material purchase orders, change notices and project completion documents.
  • Collect, review and analyze project quotes to obtain best prices.
  • Prepare and complete company-wide project reports.

What you will do
  • Assist the project team with coordination and project support;
  • Collaborate and keep the lines of communication open when working with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients;
  • Take pride in your ability to effectively review, interpret and update the construction schedules;
  • Utilize your passion for organization through maintenance, review and follow-up of shop drawings, RFI’s, material purchase orders, change notice quotes and project completion documents;
  • Effectively collect, review and analyze project quotes with emphasis on obtaining the very best prices in the market;
  • Take pride in compiling and completing company wide project reports;
  • Assemble, attend, document and emphasize the importance of project meetings;
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project. Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the projectEmbrace the learning experience and be open to internal career opportunities;
  • Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process.
This role could be for you if you have
  • 0-3 years’ experience in the building construction industry;
  • A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience;
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and exert strong organizational skills;
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills with enthusiasm for innovation;
  • Bilingualism is a strong asset**

The successful candidate will be required to obtain federal personal security clearance to the Level of Secret (10 years of continuous Canada residency, clear criminal record)
