Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking a Project Manager in Canada to lead project delivery with a client-centric approach. You will guide a collaborative team of construction professionals and act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring successful execution from idea to completion.

You will be responsible for schedule development, risk management, and maintaining quality and safety standards across projects, while leveraging your leadership and financial management experience to stay on budget and on time.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years’ experience in the ICI construction industry.
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of project success and team collaboration.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to influence others.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and maintain relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and drive the construction schedule with project team to meet milestones.
  • Apply proactive problem-solving to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Program and HS&E standards on the project.
  • Oversee financial management to plan, manage and respect budgets and purchasing.

As a Project Manager, you are a scheduling guru keeping project goals, execution, people and communication always top of mind. What you will do
  • Grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve the project goals and vision;
  • Develop and drive the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met;
  • Put your problem-solving skills to work and recommend innovative methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiency to ensure project excellence and productivity;
  • Use your proactive approach to ensure compliance with our first-class Quality Program;
  • Utilize your experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities;
  • Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing;
  • Share your knowledge and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members;
  • Keep the lines of communication open regarding project status and updates;
  • Be an expert in risk management to ensure any associated project risk is minimized;
  • Take pride in compiling and completing companywide project reports;
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project. Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project;
  • Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process.
This role could be for you if you have:
  • 5-7 years’ experience in the ICI construction industry;
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience;
  • A proven track record of project success and team collaboration;
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues to bring the project to successful completion;
  • Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, as well as building codes and associated legislation;
  • Role model status for health and safety as well as quality;
  • A passion to develop, maintain and execute the project schedule;
  • Good computer skills and previous experience with scheduling software;
Security Clearance Requirement

Please note that this position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance. To qualify, candidates must typically have lived in Canada for 10 years to allow the required background verification process to be completed successfully. Candidates who do not currently meet the eligibility requirements may not be considered for this position.
