Job summary

Kichton Construction LP is hiring two Project Coordinators to work onsite north of Fort McMurray. You will support the operation team on Syncrude MLX and Suncor Basemine projects, coordinating equipment, schedules and subcontracts while reporting to the Project Manager.

The role requires 2–5 years in a project coordination capacity, engineering background, and willingness to work in a remote, dusty environment with 12-hour shifts and 2x2 or similar rotations.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in a Project Coordinator role or equivalent
• Engineering degree or engineering-based diploma (CET)
• PMP, P.Eng Certification considered an asset
• Previous experience in heavy civil construction, earthworks or mining preferred
• Experience in AB oilsands and rotational camp work
• Experience using B2W software considered an asset
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, and One Drive

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with client requirements and specifications
• Monitor financial performance and delivery time of projects
• Complete daily LEMS reporting
• Code project financials to the correct cost code
• Create and disseminate regular progress reports
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships
• Coordinate equipment and manpower throughout project life cycle
• Communicate with project stakeholders and identify process improvements
• Provide administrative support to Project Management and Operations teams
• Perform other duties as required

Who We Are

Kichton is the heavy civil entity within the Kichton Group of Companies, based in Northern Alberta. Kichton Construction LP commenced operations in 2019 to serve the Energy and Mining Industries. Since inception, KCLP has grown substantially, starting with 30 experienced team members in 2019, to now over 300 employees and more than 300 pieces of heavy equipment.

The Role

We are seeking two experienced Project Coordinators to work onsite to help our operation team manage work at Syncrude MLX and Suncor Basemine. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience, preferably in a mining or oil sands setting. This position will be reporting to the Project Manager. The Project Coordinator is an integral part of Project Management team and will aid field and operations in the execution of projects. The role will coordinate and track correspondence, material, equipment, scheduling, subcontracts, and progress.

Location/Job Details

• Rotation to be determined (2 x 2, 2 x 1, 24 x 4)
• 12 hours per day
• Onsite at Syncrude MLX/Suncor Basemine (North of Fort McMurray)
• Daily LOA or camp provided
• Contract until end of April 2027 with possibility of extension
• Noisy, dusty, remote environment working around heavy equipment
• Mostly computer-based office work. Some work outside required

Compensation/Benefits

• $35.00 to $45.00 per hour with OT at 1.5 x the regular rate (bi-weekly pay).
• OT after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, whichever is greater.
• 9.6% Vacation and Statutory Holiday pay on all regular hours paid out bi-weekly.
