Your Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Water and Wastewater Project Coordinator to join our Water group in Edmonton who will get to work on a broad range of water and wastewater treatment projects located regionally. This is a work environment where your abilities will strengthen and grow through a diverse range of projects focused on water and wastewater treatment and process mechanical design.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assistance planning and design execution of complex water and wastewater treatment projects and related infrastructure.
  2. Assistance leading pursuits and proposals for water and wastewater infrastructure, including assembling project teams.
  3. Assistance managing project deliverables, administering contracts, and controlling project financials and schedules.
  4. Coordination of multidisciplinary design teams throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  5. Contract document preparation, including front-end contracts, detailed design drawings, and specifications.
  6. Maintaining and developing strong client relationships.
  7. Support in account management.
  8. Quality Management reviews.
  9. Help develop and ensure the ongoing success of a high performance team through mentorship and development.
  10. Attend in house and formal training sessions to ensure continuing professional development.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  1. A strong technical understanding of municipal water, municipal wastewater, and industrial water treatment design and engineering.
  2. Registration as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is considered an asset.
  3. Experience with alternative project delivery is considered an asset.
  4. Registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
  5. Strong design leadership and client relation building skills with proven capability to lead design teams and mentor staff.
  6. Strong presentation skills and experience in presenting designs and concepts to clients and colleagues.
  7. Strong communication skills including participation in professional societies and authoring professional papers and presentations.
  8. Knowledge and experience working with municipal clients in Alberta.
  9. Demonstrated experience in team leadership.
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institute.
  2. Related graduate degree would be an asset.
  3. Minimum seven (7) years of consulting experience, primarily in the design of municipal water, municipal wastewater, and industrial water treatment infrastructure, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project coordination role.
