Job summary

Ian Martin Group is seeking an Intermediate Project Controls Advisor to join our Calgary-based contract team. You will develop and maintain the owner schedule basis, integrate contractor schedules, analyze critical path, and provide schedule and progress insights.

You will coordinate cost control activities, develop project controls plans, oversee cost estimates, and draft Appropriation Request packages and decision support documents. Willingness to travel domestically is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
  • Primavera proficiency.
  • Experience in Project Services, Project Controls and Planning.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Willing to travel to required project sites (domestic) and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project cost control activities, including compliance with client policies and procedures, development and maintenance of controls systems.
  • Develop Project Controls Plans.
  • Oversee development of Project Class 3 Cost Estimate.
  • Draft Appropriation Request packages, project procedures, and Decision Support documents.

Project Controls Advisor (Intermediate)

  • Pay Rate: $80 - $87/hour
  • Contract Length: 12 months
  • Location: Calgary, AB T2C 5N1

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

Develops and maintains the owner schedule basis for assigned scope, integrates contractor schedules, analyzes critical path/float/interfaces, supports schedule reserve and recovery analysis, and produces schedule/progress insight.

Responsibilities
  • In addition to Level 1 tasks and responsibilities, Level 2:
    • Responsible for the coordination of the project cost control activities, including compliance with client policies and procedures, development and maintenance of controls systems to support contracting strategies, and contract administration.
    • Possesses the capability and experience to develop Project Controls Plans.
    • Possesses the capability and experience to oversee development of Project Class 3 Cost Estimate
    • Possesses the capability to independently draft high-quality Appropriation Request packages, project procedures, and Decision Support (White Paper) documents
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management .
  • Primavera proficiency
  • Experience in Project Services, Project Controls and Planning
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Multiple international project assignments
  • Willing to travel to required project sites (domestic) and work in a team environment
  • Knowledgeable with project management best practices framework and key work processes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong organizational, business, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical and computing skills
  • Competent or Expert proficiency in several Project Management skills, project controls, execution planning, contracting strategy, contract administration, cost estimating, planning & scheduling)
  • Experience on the owner side.
