About the role:
Reporting to and assisting the Senior Project Controller in the Glencore North American Closed Sites (NACS) group in implementing Glencore’s Capital Management Framework (CMF) to ensure successful outcomes for the group’s portfolio of closure projects.
More specifically, you will be tasked with:
- Create, update and monitor project schedules in MS Projects with inputs from Project Team members.
- Provide reports/metrics including Critical Path, Earned Value, EAC variance, Critical milestones movement, KPIs.
- Identify warnings, problems or conflicts in the project schedule to mitigate their impact.
- Assist the Project Controller in producing project controls reports as defined by CMF & Glencore NACS requirements.
- Other duties and assignments as required by the Senior Project Controller or Engineering Manager.
- Develop and implement project controls for the project (e.g., capital expenditure recommendations related to technical recommendations).
Skills:
- Graduate with a degree in a related field (Engineering, Technology, Science, Project Management, Business, Finance).
- PMP certification or training is an asset. Engineering as well as PMP certification is an asset.
- 4 - 6 years of relevant project controls and planning experience with large mining or industrial projects.
- Excellent understanding of project management techniques, with effective planning and scheduling skills.
- Strong experience with scheduling applications such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
