Qualifications

  • University Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering or Accounting related fields.
  • 5-10 years proven work experience as a Construction Project Administrator is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate level Outlook, Word, Excel & Teams.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail is required.
  • Adaptable to change and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with BST 11 and with marketing and proposals would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project costs and commitments to budget and forecast.
  • Assist with change orders and development of change order requests.
  • Produce accounting and project cost reports highlighting key issues.
  • Prepare regular reports to monitor milestones, baseline dates, trends and targets.
  • Document control and ensure documents are reviewed and processed accurately.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively within the team.
  • Maintain project-related physical and digital filing systems.
  • Support timesheet collection and resolve discrepancies with the Project Manager.
  • Track project and sub-contractor work rotations and prepare progress summaries.
  • Coordinate field travel and accommodations for project work.
  • Assist with proposal content and drafting documents as needed.
  • Book meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes.

Overview

Thurber has an exciting opportunity for a Project Administrator to join our team in Vancouver, BC. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedule baselines as required.
  • Monitor project costs and commitments to budget and forecast.
  • Assist with change orders. Assist in the development of change order requests, maintain change control as well as manage trend and change order registries.
  • Produce required accounting and project cost reports highlighting key issues.
  • Prepare regular reports to monitor project key milestones, baseline dates, trends and current targets.
  • Document control, utilizing processes and systems to ensure documents are reviewed and processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate and keep the lines of communication open within team.
  • Maintain project-specific physical, and digital, filing systems.
  • Collect and vet daily timesheets, resolving timesheet discrepancies with Project Manager.
  • Track project and employee/sub-contractor work rotations.
  • Compile and prepare job progress summaries.
  • Book and update field travel and accommodations for project work.
  • Assist with, or draft documents, including formatting and proofing documents created by other team members, prepare final document, copy and distribute as advised by Project Manager.
  • Book project meetings, prepare agendas, attend as required and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Assist with sub-contractor management.
  • Assist with preparation of proposal content.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Assets

Base Salary Range
  • $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on a 40-hour work week.
  • The posted wage range for this position represents the range for the experience and qualifications noted in this posting.
  • The offered wage may be adjusted upward for candidates whose qualifications and experience exceed those expressed in this posting.
  • Candidates with less experience and qualifications may be considered at a reduced starting wage.
